EPLAX standards and device certifications
Trust through transparency and quality monitoring
Many applications require that certain regulatory or client-specific standards and guidelines be observed. Only a single component's inconsistency with the required standard may threaten the regulatory approval for certain countries and/or areas of application. That is why we take such good care to ensure that EPLAX switch-mode power supplies and power supplies adhere to a wide range of standards and are or can be certified upon request.
Individual regulatory or job-specific requirements notwithstanding, we want to demonstrate our unfaltering commitment to consistently high, verifiable quality standards for our products and production. That is why we go beyond what is generally required. As a result, we are the first German power supply manufacturer to be certified according to ISO standard 9001:2008. In explosive application areas, we won't be satisfied with the ATEX product guidelines, but have applied for and been granted certification according to the more exacting IECEx standard OD 005-1.
Approvals according to UL and CSA
Certifications according to UL and CSA are prerequisites for the admission to the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Applications in explosive atmospheres/environments
EPLAX has been certified according to IECEx standard OD 005-1 (corresponds to the European EN 13980 standard). While the European ATEX standard focuses on approval of the device within the EU region, IECEx standard OD 005-1 follows a wider and stricter approach, basing the certification on close monitoring of company processes and ensuring consistently high quality through continuing audits. EPLAX is therefore able to develop devices and machines required to conform to the guidelines for explosive atmospheres according to the European ATEX and international IECEx standards – reliably, competently, and affordably..
